Hi everyone
AngelaCP
ready to talk about BLACK T-shirts!
AngelaCP
we have a product manager in the house...ChrissCP
AngelaCP
ConzzCP the designer and Ryan the merchandise manager
ChrissCP
Yo
ConzzCP
Hi there
AngelaCP
So, shall we begin?
ameriyank
I LOVE BLACK SHIRTS :)
AngelaCP
Me too!
AngelaCP
Okay, that was the easy one
ChrissCP
Welcome everyone. Before we get started, I'd like to remind you that we are in Beta and in "Design Only" mode with Black T's. We are in the process of making a few production tweaks and you'll be able to start selling in a few weeks. Currently you can design for the front only. Back printing will be available after the holidays.
88Red
How long for some womens styles in black?
AngelaCP
We expect to have women styles after the holiday
LabTech
The important question is WHEN? :)
Sherry
When do we get to buy them?!!!
AngelaCP
In just a few weeks! It's currently in design-only mode so you can get them ready… and once we go live in a few weeks, they will show up in your shop.
loudshirt
what is the printing process?
ChrissCP
magic ;)
Greekette
My most burning question: When customer VIEWS the shirt, esp "View Large" they will see missing chunks where transparencies are...it doesn't look so great.
ConzzCP
Remember when you're creating your images that if you want white to show in the print, you must have white show in your image... otherwise you'll see that "missing chunks" look
88Red
Tell us about the printing process
ChrissCP
Black Ts are produced using Direct Printing.
angel
How do we fade the design to the color of the t-shirt for example in a sun halo. Do we use alpha channels? What does it look like on the shirt?
ConzzCP
try putting your design on a black layer background so you can see the fade to black effect. When you trash that background and save your artwork on a single layer as a transparent PNG, it will look the same on the black garment
AngrymanArts
Does this mean we will get other dark colors soon as well?
AngelaCP
After the holidays we expect to roll out different colors and styles of dark shirts as well :)
Carolyn
I'm a Mac user. I usually scan my drawings, put them in my "picture" folder, then upload to CP. If I don't use Photoshop or Illus or Corel will I have problems? (transparent background) Do I have other options? I don't have PS yet... hopefully soon.
ConzzCP
Yes, unfortunately you're going to experience problems with that method. We're experimenting here with a free program called GIMP, it's for the Mac too.
ConzzCP
http://gimp-app.sourceforge.net/ is the url. This might help until you can get PS or Corel
RawTees
Hello, regarding designs that have black in them...will black ink appear on the shirts, and if so what does it look like against the fabric?
ChrissCP
Designing for black is different. When designing for black t-shirts at CafePress, keep in mind that white areas of your designs will no longer be treated as transparent when printing on black. For example, if your image is on a white background, the white background will be printed along with your design. The whites of the eyes will be white, not the color of the garment. Black areas of your design are printed with black ink. The black fabric will only show though the transparent areas of your design.
jaysea
I've uploaded several already. The process seems smooth.
ChrissCP
Glad to hear it.
GiftedTwisted
What's up with the Background color Bugs in the image basket?
ChrissCP
Can you be more specific?
Greekette
my white shows when I use the color picker but it doesn't show in the shirt display
ConzzCP
not sure what you're referring to here Greekette
Greekette
my white shows when I use the color picker but it doesn't show in the shirt display
ConzzCP
Can you please clarify
ConzzCP
If you experience this, you're not getting a true transparent PNG saved. When you upload your image, you'll see three boxes below your thumbnail if you successfully saved a transparent PNG. Then you can select a background color (white or black) for display in the image search,.
GiftedTwisted
I've noticed that much of the gradients get lost and disappear
ChrissCP
In the image basket?
refinish69
and long sleeves?
RyanCP
In general we will be releasing t-shirts first gauging demand and then adding other styles
RyanCP
Our goal is to only add styles as we can support the demand, we will be rolling out styles in a measured manner to make sure we can support service levels during this launch
GiftedTwisted
I have to select each BG color in the image basket before one will actually stick
ChrissCP
I haven't seen that but I'll check on it. Remember that the checkerboard is just a rollover to help indicate to you where the transparency is in your design The white and black squares represent background display choices. The color that you choose is simply the background that will be displayed behind your image in the image basket and in search results.
88Red
with the heat transfer way there was a outline of the edges... with black is it more of the direct print way?
ChrissCP
Yes, it's using the process of Direct Printing
AngrymanArts
I've always made my files PNG with Transparency, but I find I have to reload them all now for the transparency to work.
ConzzCP
Sorry about that. It can be confusing to know for sure whether you're really getting your transparency saved in your PNG. I've had difficulties myself in Paint Shop Pro... I think there are other smarter people in here regarding that program. With PhotoShop, it's not difficult at all.
Ophelia
Any possibility of supporting transparent gif in addition to png format? (The colors are limited but it would be easy to work with for one or two color text designs.)
ConzzCP
We're not currently able to support GIF's, sorry
skintribe
Based on what I've seen from the tech tips, PNG is the only accepted file format. No EPS or JPG allowed. Am I right?
ChrissCP
JPG is fine for photos but PNG is the format to use for transparent images.
LabTech
What about using the same process on the yellow and neon green shirts?
ConzzCP
We're shooting for the end of Q1-06 for transparency printing process on all color fabrics/products
kellybelly
A lot of people have commented that when they upload their transparent images, there is very small white outline around their design. Will this white outline be printed on the shirts, or is this just how the preview is shown?
RyanCP
We are going to choke the white in as much as possible to avoid the outline, the image in the store will match the output as closely as possible
ameriyank
I LOVE CAFEPRESS!!!!! I have other places on the net where I sell shirts, but CP is the best, easiest to use and always getting better.
ChrissCP
Thanks! We have more goodies coming soon. 2006 is going to be a great year for shopkeepers.
Tanith
Any tips on designing for the future. What looks good on black might be better designed for more colors?
ConzzCP
One thing to bear in mind so that you're not thrown into a mad dash of redoing images later when we start printing to other colors. If you have black in your design, keep it black, don't make it transparent... just backgrounds and large areas that are not part of that actual artwork
barbaraburns
Maheesh's unicorn is printing them right? ;P
RyanCP
yes, i love unicorns!
Jolent
how is white printed using the direct print process?
RyanCP
unicorns
Patti
process smooth for me also - i just add a black layer while creating & then delete before submitting to CafePress!! easy as pie
ConzzCP
Nice Patti
Carolyn
:c ( Gotta get me PS then! I want designs on black! So cool!
ChrissCP
Great FREE alternative, the GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). It's an open source version of Photoshop and it really works quite nicely. It can be downloaded for Windows here: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/ It can be downloaded for Mac OS X here: http://gimp-app.sourceforge.net/ There are some nice tutorials on how to use it here: http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/
88Red
since you are able to printing on dark colors now, we assume there will be way more products that can be offered, messenger bags, hats? Can you tell us any more products that are in the line up?
RyanCP
The initial plan is to release colors for existing products that have built in demand, and then start releasing new products that we can make with the new dark technology.
Amere
and totes!
gypsyowl
yes black messenger bags :)
refinish69
black boxers also LOL
Jolent
Black messenger bags would be awesome!
Romy
Will the thumbnails and "sample" overlay be tweaked so that dark designs are easy to see, etc.
ConzzCP
Hmmm, we'll look into it
jean/rotemgear
I am wondering about complex images built with black background in the layers, images with glow and the like. The black cannot be taken out of a lot of the graphic. How do you suggest we handle this?
ConzzCP
Difficult... and it depends on your design process. You might experiment with keeping a black layer for black that will be in your final artwork, then a bottom black layer so you can visualize what your artwork will look like. Just delete that bottom layer before saving.
RawTees
Chris...thanks for your response...I was wondering specifically how different the black ink looks from the fabric...is their a noticeable color difference at all?
ChrissCP
There is a difference. If you have black in your design, make it transparent so that the black of the T shows through. Does that help?
Dooni Designs
When you chose background, black, white or transparent, they don't always stay to what you choose
ConzzCP
I've had that problem too. The white and black squares are for selecting the "display" background color only (in search). Be sure to click the one you want. Once you've done that, when you roll over the other squares, you'll still see the changing backgrounds, but they won't be changed on the display unless you click again.
88Red
the choose background option, is that just for thumbs, or the image on the shirt
ChrissCP
The white and black squares represent background display choices. The color that you choose is simply the background that will be displayed behind your image in the image basket and in search results. Has nothing to do with the design on a shirt.
Ophelia
If someone has an image they don't need transparency for cutting out the shape (like a photo, which is rectangular) is it OK to use a regular JPG?
ConzzCP
Yes Ophelia...
ruby
What is the printing method used?
ChrissCP
Direct Printing
ruby
Direct printing inks different from ones currently in use??? White must be very opaque. Is that different from current inks?
RyanCP
Yes, that is correct.
toroandbruin-Peggy
How do you know (or control) whether Photoshop is saving as png-8 and png-24?
ConzzCP
You know, I'm using PS CS2, and it's all pretty automatic. I don't know if I've set something in the past in preferences or elsewhere. I suspect it's not that easy with earlier versions, and unfortunately I don't have an earlier version to go check for you... hopefully there's someone in the message boards that can help with this
debbie aka loxly
sorry if this was covered, i got here late :) I can't add my transparent pngs to anything except black shirts, meaning I still need to load png and jpg versions of my images, will that change?
RyanCP
yes, eventually we will allow the transparent pngs to apply to all colors and products.
jean/rotemgear
how does the print feel?
RyanCP
it feels similar to screen printing
foxvox
I'm guessing you can't say much more about the process because it's proprietary/secret?
RyanCP
unicorn
RawTees
I've noticed in Firefox that the display in the image basket defaults to a black BG no matter what you do...the transparent and white options are not clickable. Are their plans to fix this?
ConzzCP
We'll look into this for you. Thanks
ruby
Are they heavier and appear to be more on the surface?
RyanCP
yes, definitely heavier than the current Direct Printing
Greekette
Chris, I sent you 2 images today...the PSP version and the PSD version. Did you get them?
ChrissCP
Yes I did. I haven't had time to work with them yet.
Greekette
ok Chris...thank you so much...just wanted to verify
GiftedTwisted
That's what I'm talking about... It's true transparent png, flattened with trans bg and the CP bg selector doesn't lock the selected bg color until after I select each one of the colors once
ConzzCP
Hmmm, will look into this too. Thanks!
Dooni Designs
I noticed now that Photoshop files unflattened have become transparent. What about all the OLD ones already in the image basket?
ConzzCP
If you previously uploaded transparent PNGs to your image basket, you may have to reupload them for our system to recognize their transparency.
ConzzCP
Good to know
ruby
O.K.Gotcha. Guess they look like screen prints, but any better?
RyanCP
The quality is better than four- color process screen printing in terms or resolution and clarity
CobraA1
Does partial transparency work fine?
ConzzCP
yes
foxvox
So for square photos on black, can we upload JPGs then?
ConzzCP
yes
Spice
In Paint Shop Pro I just drop a black layer behind to see how it looks as I work. Then when it's finished I delete that layer and then use the merge layers visible command. Save as png and then upload. It seems to work fine that way.
ConzzCP
Great Spice... good to know
ConzzCP
Can't currently upload PSDs
Greekette
I need my white outline LOL
Sherry
If your image has smooth, straight edges the halo isn't hard to get rid of. On most text designs it's very easy...
refinish69
lol
P:Art+Design
Sorry if you covered this already...I got here a bit late. : (
ChrissCP
Absolutely. Go for it!
Amere
rofl Barbara
littlelizzy
I've made a white outline around my designs on purpose. Otherwise, they won't show up on the black shirt. Will the intentional outline print?
ConzzCP
Yes, what ever is in your final artwork will print. If you see a white outline, it'll print white
refinish69
mine are working great and I am learning things that work for my other designs as well
Sherry
Getting rid of the halo on designs with detailed edges (like my dogs) is more difficult, the edges must be "painted " to feather them.
Tanith
yes - I do the same for many - black fill then delete the black. That eliminates white halo.
jean/rotemgear
re conzz's comment -- i had some designs with black intricately part of the fade or glow -- how do i handle this? How much of the black should I keep around the colors?
ConzzCP
What black you want to see printed, like shadows, etc. will have to be in your final artwork. Keep a black layer for this if it's on a background layer, but lose any other backgrounds you're not wanting to see actually printed on the shirt... hope this helps
Carolyn
Ooo...black messenger bags PLEASE!
jwgdesign
I have noticed that full bleed rectangular or square pngs without transparency seem to have a white line across the top, but the same image with transparency on does not. Does this mean that even images that are full bleed (and don't require transparency) will need to have transparency to avoid white line at top?
ChrissCP
Send me the image and I'll check into it. csmith@cafepress.com
jaysea
I also design in Photoshop. I made a full black layer as background. Then my design goes in different layers. When finished, I deleted the black background layer, saved as PNG and uploaded them. So far, they look great in the CafePress images I'm seeing.
ConzzCP
great feedback jaysea
Sherry
Is CP really the first to get to the holy grail of good one up printing on black? Do I hear the competition gnashing their teeth?
ConzzCP
:)
Just4yucks
Will you be putting up a GIMP tutorial for transparency on CP?
ChrissCP
Eventually, yes. I'm going to add a section to the boards for 'tips & tricks'. Hopefully, the GIMP gurus will help us out.
jwgdesign
What does the background color display default to?
ConzzCP
black
Amere
Is it darker, lighter or just different to the shirt material Chris?
ChrissCP
The shirt is darker than the ink.
LabTech
Is it possible to start selling the Black Tees to Shop Owners to get a look at them before they get out to Customers?
RyanCP
Before putting your black shirts live, you can place an order in your store. This will need to be done after it's out of design-only mode
jen-lilgoodies
is there any reason we would want to make sure that black in the middle of a design is fabric vs ink? or is that just a preference left up to the designer?
RyanCP
it's up to you, me personal preference is to let the black of the shirt shine through whenever possible
Trai
will black shirts ever have printing on front and back?
RyanCP
yes
toroandbruin-Peggy
Way down the road, do you expect the new black-printing technology will obsolete the present white-printing technology? Will we be able to print our transparent pngs on white tees also?
ChrissCP
We'll probably provide a variety of printing techniques so that you all have a choice. You will be able to print your transparent PNGs on white.
refinish69
what is the difference between png 8 and 24?
ConzzCP
16?.... just kidding... something about color depth I believe, but I'm not a good enough geek to give a good answer to this.
Trai
will other styles of black shirts be available?
RyanCP
yes
Dooni Designs
what gifted said. That is what i was talking about as well =)
Jock
Is there a default background for the thumbs?
ConzzCP
black
refinish69
I am using photoshop 6 and my transparent pngs look okay when I uplaod
ConzzCP
Nice to know.... thanks
boogerballs
Black sweatshirts and hoodies? eventually?
RyanCP
yes
Greekette
I had the same problem as Gifted...had to do it twice to get it to stick
ChrissCP
did you use Firefox? It could be a bug
88Red
any plans to print on the sleeves?
RyanCP
it's on a wish list, but no immediate plans
Lorilei363
I have read that Firefox doesn't support transparent PNGs
ConzzCP
Really? Will have to check on this
Just4yucks
Will you be offering kids size clothing in black?
RyanCP
over time we will offer all garments in black
Dooni Designs
so its down to PNG or JPG, correct?
ChrissCP
yes
Romy
example: /cp/product.aspx?p=emeraldforest.37017598 (hope that's right url) --an example of a thumbnail looking a tad dull compared to how it would be expected to look on white
ConzzCP
Can't copy and past your URL from our chat program... am responding just so it'll be in the transcript for later
jean/rotemgear
Is there an issue with aspect ratio or can the images be any proportion like on white shirts?
RyanCP
any proportion you like within a 10 x 10 square
refinish69
make sure you do not have the grid showing on a design when using the wand to remove background
ConzzCP
agreed
littlelizzy
will we ever get to the point where you have one t-shirt that you can choose - white, black, pink, green, yellow, and so on. Rather than having each item listed separately? I think this would be sooooo helpful for people with a lot of designs and it's actually feedback that I've received from several customers
RyanCP
Yes, we will get to this point. It is a necessity as we add more colors.
littlelizzy
You've said that you're going to try to keep the white border tight, to limit the white border. I've intentionally added a white border around my image. I want the halo. Will I get it?
ConzzCP
test by adding a bottom black layer under your artwork layer... if you see halo, you'll get halo in the print
toroandbruin-Peggy
The few black shirts I've made with transparent versions of old designs look fine. They don't darken the colors, or not much. But in practice will this be true? Should I lighten up some bright colors to offset the black?
ConzzCP
This may require some test printing...
angel
is it necessary to merge the layers in Photoshop before uploading or can your printers accept a layered png (with transparency of course)
ConzzCP
I'd merge to be safe, but don't flatten or you'll lose the transparency
ConzzCP
Wish I could be of help on this... maybe try the message boards... I think there are PaintShopPro Pros in there that can better answer your question
toroandbruin-Peggy
If we get one t-shirt with a rainbow of colors choosable, PLEASE give us the option of saying which colors to include. People will want to make one version of a design to go on hot colors, another version for cool colors, and maybe a special one for black or white. Something that looks great on red, can look crummy on blue.
RyanCP
We're thinking check boxes to choose which colors you as a shopkeeper would like to offer for a particular "product"
Trai
I am so excited to have black available now. I've trusted CafePress with all my printing but people have been asking for black and I was afraid I would have to find a new company to work with than CafePress. I just wanted to say how great this is. Thanks!
RyanCP
Good to hear! :)
boogerballs
How sensitive is the black to a gradation of black that will show. Will a 10% gradation show? That is, will a 90% black show on the black t-shirt?
ConzzCP
depends on the other color that you're fading to...
mzee26
I have Paint Shop Pro 9...I was making designs using the tutorial and everything uploaded fine except with the 3 choices it gives you, black, white and transparent, I was not able to click the transparent. It would only let me choose white or black. Did I do something wrong, or is the transparent box not active yet? Thanks in advance
ConzzCP
That's an odd one mzee26. We'll look into it
angel
Why are long shirts showing on the Product Designer when choosing transparent designs?
ChrissCP
it's a bug.
PamleaSWOregon
Are black T-shirts currently available?
RyanCP
they are in design only mode for the time being
gypsyowl
Does anyone else use ArcSoft PhotoImpressions? I can delete the back layer but have to save in jpg, transfer to ADC See and then save to PNG any one else using this method? Does it work for the transparencies?
Sherry
Remy, I'm seeing the opposite - Simple text designs look WONDERFUL on black. Here's one I did for my brother's shop: /frankopinions/37091575 It's way better on black than on white! These are really going to boost sales.
Greekette
does the black spaces in a design (the black ink) look very different from the black fabric of the shirt?
ConzzCP
may be pretty close, but repeated washings may show some differences. If it black that's part of the artwork (outline, black pupils of eyes, etc.), leave it in. If it's black because it's open space, make it transparent.
88Red
I would love to have black backgrounds for all my thumbs
ConzzCP
You will by default
Jolent
I have Photoshop elements and do the same...only I use 2 separate background layers...one white and one black...this give me a chance to see the design on both...then delete both of them, and save the image with transparency to png...I've had no problem with uploaded images at all, all look good.
Patti
jolent - great idea
ConzzCP
Nice
Tanith
Does it show fine detail well? I created a fill with fine alternating blue and yellow lines.
ConzzCP
We've seen really great results with fine detail
ConzzCP
I'm sure this won't be the last
toroandbruin-Peggy
In Photoshop, when I have a line which is translucent (partially transparent) it seems to default to white or gray when turned into a PNG and uploaded. It is no longer partially transparent. Or am I imagining this?
ConzzCP
I'd have to experiment with this... so far I've had good results with translucencies
Fricka
Toro... I've seen that too. I either create a white layer under then sample the color created and re do with that.... or you can take your translucent layer, duplicate but fill with white (or black) and merge those two layers.
pettingzoos
how durable is the print?
RyanCP
it washes well
jwgdesign
I don't think it is possible to have transparency in a png 8
ConzzCP
This may answer your question Greekette
Greekette
conzz, you need to get your geekness up to speed, then ;)
ConzzCP
I've seen this happen to. I added a background white later, re-flattened the image, and resaved and it was fine.
Fricka
Which do we use, png 8 or 24?
ConzzCP
24
Amere
I use Photoshop 4 and mine seem to work fine too :-)
ConzzCP
Now I am impressed.
Spice
Could you explain a little better please Ryan what you meant earlier about shop owners could order and then remove the black t-shirt. I'm a bit confused but would like to order one for myself to see it if possible. Do you mean place it in a hidden section, then order?
RyanCP
yes, once it's live…not during Design-Only mode
jen-lilgoodies
when you have non 100% opaque color in your design you need to put a 100% opaque background behind it. The default in any program is to "flatten" the color into opaque color spaces so if you want a somewhat translucent look put black behind it
boogerballs
Has anyone tried to export a transparent png directly from Illustrator. I've tried and it doesn't work very well. Maybe I'm doing it wrong...
ConzzCP
yes, and didn't work
88Red
I use Firefox and have not had any issues at all
ConzzCP
We'll look to see if there are any Firefox issues or not…
Linda
So, if I have a design on a black background, on a white shirt, I should still make it transparent for the black shirt?
ChrissCP
yes
jen-lilgoodies
if it helps bug reports, I'm using a mac.. firefox and photoshop cs transparent pngs and all seems well... so far, I've only uploaded 12 images however. I had problems initially but I think it was internet yuck in general
ConzzCP
another good reason for owning a mac, eh?
RawTees
You had mentioned that at some point we will also be able to use our transparent images for our white tees, too. When this happens, will the price of white tees be raised (or will the printing method itself not change from what it is now)? Also, can we expect a black Value Tee?
RyanCP
I'm not really sure to tell the truth, but my top of the head guess is that we will allow you to choose which printing method you like and they will be priced accordingly. Black value t is not yet in the plan.
jean/rotemgear
don't flatten, just "save AS"
ConzzCP
Si, yes, yes, yes
ChrissCP
Just to reiterate...The color swatches are to select a dark or light background for your designs. These do not create transparency; you have to create transparent images in your image editing software (use our tutorials for detailed instructions). Because you'll be designing for black t-shirts, there's a good chance you'll be using a lot of white in your designs. Sometimes your design may be entirely white, such as all-white text. Because the pages on the CP website are white, you won't be able to see your design against it. That's why we allow you to specify a black background so that you, and visitors to your shops and our Marketplace, can see the white in your designs.
jean/rotemgear
my "you can uncheck the layers option" was --sorry -- the second half of "in PhotoShop you dont have to merge ... just save AS and then be sure layers is unchecked -- it will name it "copy" -- that means no layers
ConzzCP
Right... good one
CobraA1
To answer some PNG questions: PNG 8 is 256 color, GIF-like transparency only (I don't know if CafePress supports), 24 is full-color, full-alpha, which CafePress definitely supports :). Yeah, I'm a bit of a techie.
boogerballs
I've had the same "revert from transparency to solid fill" using Illustrator.
ConzzCP
Can't be done from illustrator
toroandbruin-Peggy
No translucencies - Then I'm probably uploading in png 8 rather than 24. How do I switch to 24?
ConzzCP
what program?
jean/rotemgear
i can't see my black tees in any form except as administrator -- meaning I can't show anyone even as design, why is that?
ChrissCP
Because we're in design-only mode.
barbaraburns
I'm using Fireworks 4 .. I think my png are working okay
BizarreTees - Kelly
I have been using PSP9 to create the PNG files. I also have 6 but could not figure it out with 6. Is there an easy way to do this in 6? (P.S. the alpha channel thing needs to be added to the tutorial!) :)
ChrissCP
I'll add this.
littlelizzy
macs rule!
RawTees
Boogerballs...I'm using Illustrator CS2 and haven't had problems...although you do specifically have to choose "transparent" as a background color during the Save Options dialog box.
jwgdesign
I just made a png 8 with the transparency option checked in ImageReady CS. It did not save it with transparency, so that may confirm no transparency in png 8. Could it also be why others are losing their transparency (if they are inadvertently saving in png 8
JoArtee
I have a mac and using safari, I uploaded 3 images today, so far they look ok...
jwgdesign
I have output pngs from illustrator CS with transparency with no problems
barbaraburns
We can show it to people if we right click on the product # while logged in & open it in another window/tab
Sherry
I wonder if the ones we are seeing being passed around are in cpShops. (Because SOME people have figured out how to show them.
debbie aka loxly
jean you can show them if you click on the product number in your design mode and it opens the actual product page window
nightmareartist
I missed the entire chat again, didn't I....
chm
Jean, it is possible to show others your black T-shirts. Hi, BTW. : )
AngelaCP
Hi everyone
AngelaCP
We're having some trouble on our end… :(
jean/rotemgear
Chris, may I email you an image that is an example of the fade/glow problem I am having?
JoArtee
I have a mac and using safari, I uploaded 3 images today, so far they look ok...
